Wonders of The First: Understanding the Multiverse & Lore
If you’re a Wonders of The First CCG player, you may have noticed that our universe is bigger than just the card game. You might see Shock’em Comics telling stories about Wonders characters or other creators developing new narratives around their Wonders.
So what’s the deal? How does it all fit together?
The short answer: Wonders of The First is a vast multiverse, and different creators are building within it. But not everything you see is part of the official CCG game lore.
HOW THE MULTIVERSE WORKS
The Wonders of The First universe is built on Character Art Proofs — one-of-a-kind collectibles that give their owners the right to create stories, products, and even entire franchises based on their Wonder.
At the core of the universe is an event called The Great Shattering, which is the singularity for an infinite number of branching realities, or Paths.
– Official Wonders CCG lore, developed by us, and what you’ll see reflected in the game.
– Shock’em Comics, a separate company that owns many Wonders and tells their own stories through comic books. These stories are official within their path, but they don’t define the lore of the CCG.
– Infinity Path — This is the realm of non-canonized but officially supported narratives, where Proof owners can develop their own stories, expand their characters, and create in the Wonders universe simultaneously. Timelines in the Infinity Path may not always align perfectly from creator to creator. Fans should view each creator within the Infinity Path as their own “pseudo-path,” rather than expecting strict continuity across different works.
So, when you see different stories in comics, short films, or other media, remember — only the Official Wonders lore directly impacts the CCG game world.
WHAT THIS MEANS FOR CCG PLAYERS
– Game lore is set in Official Wonders lore. If you’re following the story in the CCG, that’s the timeline that matters for gameplay and official world-building.
– Shock’em Comics is doing its own thing. Their stories are fully recognized in their own universe, but they don’t define game mechanics, characters, or events in the CCG.
– You might see the same characters in different stories. Some characters appear in both the CCG lore and Shock’em Comics lore, but their stories might be different in each. Think of it like how the same superhero can have different versions in movies, comics, and video games.
WHY THIS APPROACH?
We designed Wonders of The First to be bigger than just one story. We want creative builders, storytellers, and companies to be able to expand the universe — but we also want to make sure game players know where to focus if they want to follow the official CCG storyline.
So, if you’re playing the CCG, stick to the official Wonders lore for the game.
But if you love exploring different stories, Shock’em Comics and other creators have built incredible narratives that let you see Wonders in new and exciting ways.
Wonders of The First is a multiverse — play, explore, and enjoy the journey.
