Eternal Service Starter Deck

A Dance Between The Abyss and the Collector’s Soul

There’s something ineffable about a collectible card game. It’s not merely a game; it’s a story—a universe, even—compressed into the space of your hand. The deck Eternal Service is no exception. It whispers of necromancers, eternal loyalty, and the quiet persistence of those who serve long after the grave has called. It’s not just a deck; it’s a tale of sacrifice and resurrection, of shadows and wonders, and of treasures waiting to be unearthed. Let us step into the dark.

A Brief Encounter with the Undead
The deck Eternal Service could be described as a minor key symphony composed of characters and mechanics that hum with the resonance of duty beyond death. Its cards do not merely exist; they linger.

Shaka Bok III, Well Favored, strides into the story with an almost Shakespearean gravitas—a king among the shadows, leading his legions from The Abyss. Each turn, each battle, he brings something extraordinary back, a relic of the lost given purpose once more. His unique ability allows you to choose any Wonder in your abyss and bring it back to life after Shaka’s first battle each round. A powerful ability that can set up countless reanimation stratagems.

Cura, Voice of Terror, is a banshee whose scream does not end in despair but in the rallying of allies. She is as beautiful as she is terrible and faithful in her horror. Her ability to buff the power of other undead Wonders helps keep your legions in charge. Should you get another copy, the two can affect one another.

The Remains of Barnabus—and oh, what remains! The cracked bones of this wretched servant rise again and again, unbothered by the whims of mortality. When the round ends, you can return Barnabus from The Abyss to one of the active realms. This makes him the perfect target for your sacrifice effects and abilities.

These cards do more than play; they tell stories.

Themes That Linger Like Ghosts
At the heart of Eternal Service is a promise: to persist. Even in death, even when all seems lost, there is always something left to give and fight for.

Resurrection and Necromancy: This deck is, at its core, a hymn to the restless dead. Shaka Bok III embodies this in every move, while spells like Power of Bloodlines allow you to weave the resurrection tale. Sacrifice is not a tragedy here but an act of loyalty. Deconstruct turns destruction into power. The undead legions are unwavering, almost noble, serving causes greater than themselves. At the same time, cards like Gorrash reach into the shadows to find what you need.

Why Collect This Deck?
Eternal Service is a deck for the collector as much as for a player. The mythic card Shaka Bok III can only be found in these starter decks. He makes the deck worth picking up, especially with the chance to find OCM or Stonefoil versions of him in these boxes. The many other cards in this deck are foundational to Umbrathene and give you a fantastic head start toward collecting them all.

The Timeless Call of the Grave
Perhaps Eternal Service is more than a deck. Maybe it’s a lesson, a quiet urging to look at the world differently. Its cards remind you that every sacrifice means something and that even the most forgotten souls can rise again.
