Early Bird Allocations Are Finished – Orders Will Be Processed Soon!

We’re excited to share that allocation emails are going out shortly! Please take a moment to read the details below so you know what to expect over the next couple of days.

TLDR

– You’ll receive an email soon with your allocation details. Subject Line: “Wonders CoTS Allocation”

– We’ll start processing orders within a few hours, beginning with Thursday’s orders.

– Expect to see credit card charges as we process, if you placed multiple orders, some may show as canceled (see below about the allocation framework/process).

– You may want to notify your credit card company that charges from us are coming.

– Please allow a couple of days for all orders to be processed.

– Your allocation email today confirms how much product you received.

We truly appreciate your patience as we work through all orders. The team is processing as quickly as possible and will keep everything moving smoothly.

If your bank declines your order we will send you a code NEXT WEEK to place the order again from scratch.  These codes will be good for 72 hours.  If this happens and you don’t re-order in time, your allocation will be lost.

Keep reading if you want to understand how we navigated this allocation process.

Your Final Wonders Box Allocation

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT: Reasonable people could easily disagree on the “finer points” of how we awarded points and navigated the allocation overall.  But we hope you will at least feel more informed with how the process was handled after reading this post.

As a business we love to see demand.  Demand exceeding supply is a good problem to have but it’s still a problem because some folks miss out.

However, everyone who made a pre-order request received at least 1 box! For folks that placed multiple orders you only got this 1 box credit on a single order and whether or not your additional orders were filled was based on the remaining allocation process.

The Points Based Allocation Framework Overview:

We had to develop a methodology to do this allocation fairly that could be applied across all orders at scale.  To accomplish this we:

1) Created a points system based on various criteria we will explain below.

2) Allocated based on each person’s pro-rata share of the total points awarded.

The process itself was fairly straightforward and mathematical once the points awarded framework was complete.

How Points Were Awarded:

Points were awarded based on the following criteria:

– 1 point per $250 spent in the Existence Set Kickstarter (awarded as 0.1 point per $25)

– 3 points if you attended The First Shattering

– 3 points if you completed the “Discord-to-Email Matching Survey” and you have commented in any channels this year.

– Card Geek Hall of Fame members (the club which anyone can join and made up the very first Wonders community) were awarded 5/2/1 points per Legend, Hero and All-Star Geek held respectively

– We awarded points based on our proprietary CRM scoring system (this is the only aspect we aren’t willing to share full transparency on but its “overall effect” on the total points came out to just under 3 per person on average).

Allocation Wave 1:

All points were totaled and the available remaining inventory was allocated to each person based on their pro-rata share of the points.  This resulted in a Max Allocation (“MA”) being calculated for each person.

If your MA met or exceeded your total pre-order request, you received your full ask.  This also waterfalls across all of your orders filling them from largest to smallest if your MA was high enough.

If your MA was less than your total request you were allocated the full amount of your MA.

This completed “Wave 1” which allocated approximately 83% of the available boxes.

Allocation Wave 2:

For the next wave everyone with a fully filled request was removed and the process was run again for the remaining boxes and any unfilled requests.

Your MA was increased by your pro-rata share of the remaining boxes.  This fully filled some additional requests and helped increase allocation for the rest.

In total “Wave 2” got us up to about 97% of the available inventory now allocated.

Allocation Wave 3:

For any orders still left unfilled we ranked all the orders and went down the list giving them each 1 additional box until 100% of the available boxes were allocated.

“Wave 3” completed the allocation process.

What Happens Next?

Orders will begin processing. This is a “semi manual” process and will take a little time…but finalized orders should start batching soon.  If you placed multiple orders and your MA wasn’t enough to fill some/all of them…those orders will be canceled.  But again, everyone should see at least one order getting at least one box.

Dragon Box Codes

These will go out Friday and you will have the weekend to use them.  Each case in your final order gets you a code and then any loose boxes below a case gets you a 1:6 shot at a code.  The codes ARE transferable but if you buy a code from someone you do so at your own risk.  Use G&S unless you fully trust the seller…please don’t get scammed…we won’t be able to assist if you do.

Closing Thoughts

Overall, those who participated in the Kickstarter and were here from the very beginning received a larger share of the allocation but we did work to reward those who have come along later and engaged taking things into account like Discord participation, SCG event sign ups, survey completions, etc.

Reminder that this isn’t all Collector product spoken for…but it is the majority of what will be available come release.  We do have some left for anticipated LGS orders and we’d like to confirm that we will be offering a full 30-pack Play Booster Box for Call of the Stones and it will feature it’s own box topper with a little something special for those buyers and a similar batch of exclusive alt-art commons sprinkled into packs (like the Dreamcaps and Mice from from Existence Play Boosters).
