Here at Wonders of The First, we’ve always believed that building side-by-side with our community allows us to deliver the absolute best card game possible. Today, we’re taking that ethos to the next level, announcing our official Wonders of The First: Existence Community Flavor Text Contest!
What is the Flavor Text Contest?
This is your chance to land your lore on some of the cards in our first set release! The Wonders design team has identified 12 cards in the Existence set that have room on the bottom of the card as an opportunity to expand on the lore of each selected Wonder. There are two from each Orbital.
If you want to make your mark on our Existence set, head to our Discord and read the #announcements channel for the official submission form and other useful information, such as the Lore Overview & Guidelines. In addition, our lead game designer, Brian Tinsman, has written a blog post titled “Insider’s Guide to Writing Flavor Text“ to help guide your thinking.
You can submit up to three Flavor Text variations per card shown below. There is no limit to how many times you can submit. So, what are you waiting for?!
The contest will start today and run through 3PM EST next Friday, March 8. The design team will then look at all your submissions and we will be hosting a YouTube live stream the following Monday, March 4, to choose the winners whose submissions will be on the cards!

A couple notes: All card text, abilities, and numbers are subject to change. Additionally, the team reserves the right to modify, adapt, or otherwise, any submitted Flavor Text as needed. If we do so, we will still credit the text to the winning submitter.
